Shelly most likely chose such a place for Victor to visit frequently as a child to show how lovely his childhood was. The mention of his great childhood leads to a later theme in the novel of nature versus nurture.

I like that you bring it around to an intention -- it feels one sentence away from being fully realized -- how does this theme manifest? Why show such a wonderful childhood?
